Through this engagement, we worked together with ITCILO in the design and delivery of an online dissemination event on the work-life balance aspect of the EW@W project and its learning module.

The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) is the training arm of the International Labour Organization (ILO). It runs training, learning and capacity development services for governments, employers' organizations, workers' organizations and other national and international partners in support of Decent Work and sustainable development. ITCILO is part of the United Nations System.


Balancing paid work and personal life is a challenge, especially for women since they perform 76 per cent of total hours of unpaid care work (ILO Care Work report, 2018). The year 2020 has brought unprecedented changes to the global economy and the world of work. Achieving better work-life balance and enabling an equal sharing of family responsibilities has never been more crucial. To respond to this emerging situation, and to promote and raise awareness about the knowledge products, eLearning modules and tools of the EW@W capacity development platform, including the EW@W module on work-life balance for companies, on 16 December 2020, ITCILO, in cooperation with the WorkLife HUB held a learning webinar entitled Work-life integration: Successful workplace practices in the “new normal” as part of the EU-funded WE EMPOWER G7 project to promote women’s economic empowerment at work.

The learning webinar aimed to showcase workplace practices implemented during the pandemic to support workers to balance their work and family responsibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic, gather information, real-life challenges and experiences as well as collect feedback real-time on the learning modules of the project.

How did we support the design and delivery of the learning webinar?

In the development of the online webinar, we supported ITCILO with the design of the event methodology and content, facilitation, recruitment of panellist, creation of the pre and post-webinar survey, and the writing of the training report.
